BIG UPDATE.

Here’s a super big update and all that’s been going on:

1) It’s the shirt!
T-shirts have been decided on. They will be the comfy Port & Company tees mentioned in the previous post.

2) Flyers
Fliers were handed out and made! They look quite beautiful. If you would like to have a download of the fliers to cut out and hand out to your friends, just email the request to projectopenheart@yahoo.com. Otherwise you can just copy and paste this picture onto a word document to print out. Whatever floats your boat. I used the shirt illustration from here.

3) Pricing & monetary information
I have a rough idea that t-shirts will be priced around $15. This is what the fifteen dollars will cover:

  • materials used to make the shirt
  • a few dollars to save up for screen printing equipment
  • the rest of the money goes to completing the mini-project the shirt was designed for. You can read the awesome description about mini projects on the About page.

More details about money stuff will be up later, once the details are worked out.

4) It’s been decided! (The T-Shirt making Method)
The shirts will be hand painted with fabric paint right onto the t-shirts. It will definitely be machine washable. When enough money is saved up, screen printing equipment will be purchased (or possibly even built).

Screen printing is a method of printing designs onto many types of surfaces, including shirts. It is very versatile and can allow for more complicated, yet clean designs. The outcome of screen printing on a t-shirt is basically what you see on the t shirts in your own closet.

5) you can has designs! (…later)
I have lots of designs written down and sketched. Designs and t-shirts will most likely be ready by the end of next week. Details will be posted later, most likely on a separate page.

6) Thank you, thank you very much
A lot of people have been asking if I need help on anything, and I am pleasantly surprised. When I first started Openheart, it never occurred to me that people would want to chip in. I’m really thankful that they do, though, and if help is ever needed I’ll always post something.

And thus concludes the really long post! Thankyoupleasecomeagain!

Peace.
