About
openheart is…
a freestyle fund raising project (that has nothing to do with school or clubs) where t-shirts are created and sold in order to fund raise for people in need of help, such as people lacking access to clean water. Each t-shirt design is thoughtfully designed and made by hand. All proceeds from t-shirts are directed towards helping people in need and paying for the materials used to make the shirt. T-shirts are not sold for profit and are always sweatshop free. All organizations in which the funds are donated to are reliable and have been carefully researched by us. If you would like to learn more about the organizations we work with, the people we are inspired by, and how you can help, please visit our links page (coming soon).
All in all, openheart is just made up of two people whowant to do what they love (making t-shirts) to help people out.
The people behind Project Openheart
Tiffany
My passion for people in need began in my sophmore year of high school. It was then that I found out about the present genocide in Darfur. The images that I saw and the facts I learned inspired me to do what I could about it. I learned that the genocide has been going on for 6 years, and civil tension in Sudan (the country where Darfur is in) has been present for even longer. Over 400,000 people have died in the genocide. Many people still don’t know about the genocide despite the fact that it’s been around so long. I really wanted to do something to raise money and awareness, and since my friend Avon & I have been talking about starting a t-shirt business, making t-shirts was the thing to do! So the thought of helping international and communal neighbors despite race, gender, or class is thrilling. PLUS getting to design t-shirts makes things all the more groovy. I can’t wait to see what happens with Project Openheart!

Hi! I’m really glad that you the reader, seem to be interested in Project Openheart :] Please and Thank You for supporting us! Hopefully, there will be more shirt designs posted by the end of this summer. Hm…about myself…well, I guess my reasons for supporting this project is more generalized. Its true that hearing about Darfur was really shocking, and it made me think about whether or not I could do something to help, but what concerns me more is just helping people out in general. I really hope that this project will make a difference. Haha, I think it’s great how Tiffany came up with the Openheart idea, we were just thinking about designing shirts at first, but now it has a direction!
